Advancing women candidates who will fight for Florida’s families.
Women United for Florida Families is a non-partisan, issues-based federal political action committee. Our goal is to encourage, amplify and support qualified women who align with our policy agenda to run for Congress, the Senate and for President.
The power of women working together in a common cause is exponential. We want to harness that power behind a policy agenda that will move the needle for the women and children of Florida.
WUFF PAC aims to provide campaign infrastructure, support and awareness to viable women candidates for federal offices across Florida who support family-friendly policies, as well as to build a movement of candidates, staff, volunteers, and donors (all of whom are voters) who will mobilize to create a more just Florida.
Our Policy Agenda
WUFF PAC has established a policy agenda based on research conducted by the Institute for Women’s Policy Research, a Washington D.C. think tank and the Delores Barr Weaver Policy Center, a Jacksonville-based agency with deep experience in the lived experiences of Florida girls, about the status of women and girls in Florida, by County. Spoiler alert: the news is not good, and any update based on the 2020 Census is likely to show little to no progress. This statement was also true before the Covid-19 pandemic. The good news is that both research groups provided policy recommendations that would help to ameliorate some of the bad news. These include:
- Access to affordable medical care including reproductive medical care
- Access to affordable housing
- Access to affordable childcare
- Closure of the gender pay gap
- Access to capital for women business owners
- Paid Family Medical Leave
- Full funding of Public Schools
- A living wage as opposed to a minimum wage
